Mental health organisation Richmond Wellbeing launches an art competition and exhibition for Aboriginal artists.

A Perth not-for-profit mental health organisation has launched a new art competition and is looking for entries from Aboriginal artists.
The inaugural 'The Art of Wellbeing' competition and exhibition aims to provide members of the West Australian Aboriginal community with an opportunity to share their culture through their art.
Artists will be asked to submit their interpretation of wellbeing through painting, photography, sculpture or any other artistic medium.
The competition is run by Richmond Wellbeing, a not-for-profit organisation that specialises in supporting mental health practices and individuals in mental health recovery.
Deputy Premier; Minister for Health, Mental Health the Hon. Roger Cook was on hand to officially launch the competition at the Richmond Wellbeing offices in Cannington on Tuesday (July 18).
Twenty finalists will be selected from the entries and paid for their artwork, which will then be showcased and auctioned at a corporate event in November to raise funds for the organisation's Aboriginal programme.
The overall winner will be given the chance to work with artist Janine Daddo and highly regarded Noongar artist Wendy Hayden. The two celebrity artists will collaborate on a joint 'Wellbeing' artwork, which will also be auctioned at the event.
Neil Guard, CEO of Richmond Wellbeing, said, "Essentially this is a call-out to all aspiring Aboriginal artists to be part of an exciting project that has the potential to enhance their artistic careers, while also giving support to their communities."

Artists wishing to be considered should note that August 21 is the closing date for expressions of interest, and competition entries close on October 27.
The winner will be announced at a corporate event on November 14.
