NEW IN 2020, and premiering at FRINGE WORLD PERTH this show is going to rock your socks!

Primo Loco is Spanish for crazy cousin. You know the one. The one everyone loves to hang out with for a single night of too
much fun – it’s a good thing Fringe only happens once a year.

Are you looking for a show that makes you laugh so hard it hurts? Try to imagine the most skilled, hilarious performers you’ve ever seen combining jaw dropping circus skills with deadly humour, sexy and wrong all at the same time; bendy people, bending boundaries... and you have Primo Loco.

This is the World Premiere of Primo Loco. It’s a late night circus

cabaret. What fire is to Fuego Carnal, laughter is to Primo Loco, but it’s a different cast, with a different attitude, there’s a reason no kids are allowed.

Description

'Great business must be wrought ‘ere … boodjar baal waaliny.'

Hecate, queen of the witches, is usually omitted from productions of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Here, she is at the heart of everything, watching as Macbeth strives toward power at any cost, all the while knowing that order must be restored; that Country always trumps human ambition and greed.

In 1833 colonist Robert Menli Lyon wrote in reference to Noongar people that ‘the whole of each tribe are bards’. This world premiere event puts those words to the test. Having spent years studying and reclaiming their endangered Noongar language, a star ensemble use this audacious adaptation as a springboard to showcase its poetic and expressive qualities.

Join us for Australia's first large-scale Shakespeare production entirely in Noongar language, the original language of the south west of Western Australia, as conceived by Kyle J Morrison. Adapted and directed by Kylie Bracknell [Kaarljilba Kaardn].

A post-show Q&A will take place after the show on Feb 11 and a schools performance will take place on Feb 12.

Hecate is presented by Yirra Yaakin Theatry Company, Bell Shakespeare and Perth Festival.

“Bingo Loco has become nothing short of an entertainment phenomenon in its birth place of Dublin and beyond.” – Lonely Planet.

Bingo Loco is not a performance, it’s an engaging experience with the mentality of a theatre show, while always ensuring every element is completely ridiculous.

In 2020, Bingo Loco is partnering with Make-A-Wish® Australia to help create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Each
year, thousands of Australian children are diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Wishes complement medical treatment – working to calm, distract and empower sick kids at the time they need it most. When a wish is realised, a child discovers that despite their situation, anything is possible.

Last year’s season saw record crowds of locals and visitors descend on Scarborough each week to spend summer nights on Scarborough Beach with their toes in the sand as they wander through a global market of culinary delights and sensory surprises.

This year promises to be filled with even more mouthwatering food, stunning retail, chilled tunes, arts and engaging entertainment, while we also launch a WAR ON WASTE!

Our WAR ON WASTE aims to;
• reduce waste at the markets;
• introduce reusable containers;
• recycle organic & compostable waste; and
• minimise disposal into landfill

The main sources of waste at the markets are food and plastic plates, cutlery and bottles. Therefore, to ensure we deliver on our vision for a greener market the below strategies are being introduced;

• Patron’s encouraged to BYO plates, cutlery, cups
• Market Eat Kits – we are selling reusable eating kits for patrons including plates and utensils.
• Waste Stations around the markets, at which visitors place waste on a table and our War on Waste Warriors sort through it and dispose of it in the correct bin – reducing contamination and incorrect bin usage.

Description

Surrealism was a worldwide phenomenon when Heathcote opened in 1929 and I’ve always been interested in the connection between Surrealism and concepts of madness. When asked to make new work about the Heathcote Mental Health Reception Centre I took the opportunity to explore some of the strategies used by the Surrealists: collective ventures, poetry and the use of found objects in artworks.

As I read stories from past staff and patients, and listened to Oral Histories that have been collected - I allowed the ones that resonated to come forward. These stories had something of the surreal about them, a startling relationship with a material (feathers, hair, bone), the erotic, or the unconscious. They suddenly made me identify with the patient or the staff member- to be in their body, to inhabit madness, and to work in a place that both contained and maintained madness.

With thanks to Kaylene Poon, the City of Melville History Centre staff and the many participants who contributed to this project.
