Selected from over 700 incredible entries this year, these 40 finalists showcase a variety of artistic techniques to create beautiful works of portraiture. This year’s Pre-Selection Panel included Dr Clarissa Ball, Linton Partington, Amy Barrett-Lennard, Bahar Sayed & Tyrown Waigana.

Winners of the Prize will be announced on 30 September 2022. The Lester Prize Main Awards exhibition will be held in Gallery 5 at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, from October 1 to November 13, 2022, with the option to attend the exhibition in-person or online in the virtual gallery space.
