The return of Spring also means the return of Perth’s favourite Spring past time – a day at the races!

Ascot’s Spring Racing Carnival combines all the best elements of racing excitement, including glorious Perth sunshine, delectable food from the many restaurants and dining options, quality thoroughbred racing action, plus so much entertainment you’ll be smiling from ear-to-ear.

We’ve compiled a list of the Top 10 things that should be on your bucket list this Ascot Racing Carnival.

1. Ice Cream at the Races

Indulge your sweet tooth at Ascot’s new Ice Creamery. Choose from an array of flavours and gourmet ice creams, the perfect treat to keep you cool on a sunny day at the races.

2. Hobby Horse Riding

As part of their monthly Family Days, Ascot Racecourse will play host to a hobby horse tournament for the young ones (and young at heart). Be a part of the cultural phenomenon and prance your heart out at Ascot. Starting from Saturday, 12 October on Crown Perth Opening Day, there will be loads of free activities for the whole family, including bouncy castles, pony rides, games, stilt walkers, face painting, giveaways and more.

3. Pink Gin Cocktails

Pink gin is set to be the drink of the season. Enjoy some delicious Gordon’s Pink Gin cocktails from the pop-up Pink Gin Bar, while you take in the gorgeous spring weather and enjoy the unbeatable raceday atmosphere of Ascot Racecourse.

4. A trip to Byron Bay Beer Garden at Ascot

You don’t need to hop on a plane to visit Byron Bay this spring, just visit Ascot Racecourse. This year, Ascot Racecourse are launching their beachy Byron Bay Beer Garden at Ascot. Relax and enjoy the summer vibes and icy cold Byron Bay Pale Ales with a trackside location.

5. Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest comes to Ascot this spring on 19 October. Enjoy plenty of German treats like bratwursts, sauerkraut, Wiener schnitzel and ham hocks, washed down with some refreshing lagers in Perth’s largest Beer Hall. Prost!

6. TENTLAND Reimagined

Launch 2020 in style with the ultimate throwback, TENTLAND Reimagined, at Ascot Racecourse. We are bringing back the fun and nostalgia of TABtouch Perth Cup Day’s most loved event and giving it a classy modern twist.

7. Fashions on the Field

A racing institution, Fashions on the Field is one of the best things about the races. They’ll be plenty of opportunities to enjoy great fashions this spring, including the monochrome fashions at Derby Day at Ascot on 2 November and the final of the Country Cups Fashions on the Field on 30 November at the Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes Day.

8. Furnace and the Fundamentals to ignite Perth Cup Day

Returning to Ascot Racecourse for TABtouch Perth Cup Day on 4 January is crowd favourite, Furnace and the Fundamentals. Playing an exclusive set in the TENTLAND Reimagined precinct before finishing the day off with an electrifying performance for all racegoers after the last race.

9. Relive the 80s in Trackside Club

Get ready to play in one Ascot Racecourse’s newest raceday functions, Trackside Club, exclusive to TABtouch Derby Day on 2 November and TABtouch Melbourne Dup Day at Ascot on 5 November. Party pumping tunes, arcade games, 80s throwbacks and fashion under the neon lights will ensure racegoers enjoy horseplay at its best.

10. Ascot’s Biggest Christmas Party
