This year the Great Southern Bloom Festival is in full swing and has a bustling programme of events, workshops, exhibitions and more, running until October 21. If you’re unsure of what to see or do here is a hand-picked guide by Bloom’s Festival Coordinator so that you can make the most of Spring down South.

Bohemian Woodcraft Demonstration

Bluff Knoll Cafè, Oct 06, 07, 13 & 14

Mathew Ingram from Bohemian Woodcraft of Manjimup will be bringing his pole lathe to the Bluff Knoll Café to showcase how this age-old woodwork technique can turn carefully selected timber into beautiful crafted woodworks and fine furniture.

A Wildflower Walk with Bev

Private Land (Katanning), Oct 07

Upon arrival at a farm, you will embark on a morning stroll through the bush, guided by the most knowledgeable flora volunteer. Afterwards, unwind on the patio with a light morning tea and have a chat with the farm family!

Friday Food Night

Heritage Rose Garden, Oct 12

A fun night with dinner, live music and treats at the Katanning Heritage Rose Garden which incorporates a Noongar Time Walk, Malay Mosaic, Pioneer Women’s Clock, and roses dating back to the 1830’s.

Mucky Duck Bush Band in Woodanilling

Town Hall (Woodanilling), Oct 13

Enjoy an afternoon and evening of Australian folk music, face painting, and dancing for the whole family.

Fervor Foraged Feast at the Pink Lakes

Cranbrook, Oct 13

Indulge in a unique five course degustation. Each dish is crafted with fresh ingredients from locally sourced produce in a dining experience overlooking the stunning Stirling Range.

Long Table Luncheon in the Everlasting

Korellup, Oct 14

Be prepared to be ‘wowed’ by a memorable 5-star dining experience, set within a field of everlastings. Dishes will be prepared by talented chefs using local produce and delicacies, accompanied by regional wines.

Live Music at Gilberts

For the Bloom Festival, the Gilberts will be putting on a live music special to celebrate the warmer spring weather. Visitors are invited to enjoy hot drinks, sweet treats and light meals at our café and explore the culinary garden!

Old Time Outdoor Movie

Tambellup Community Pavilion, Oct 19

Our master projectionist will delight with some pre-movie ‘filums’ before the screening of a current release family movie. Think old style reel-to-reel projection equipment.

Bye Bye Bloomin’ Good Bye

Pingrup Main Street, Oct 20

A fantastic family fun event filled with indulgent food and drinks, amazing entertainment and pop-up market for all ages.

Art for Fun

Millinup Estate, Oct 13 & 20

Join local art teacher Diane Sheehan and work with natural materials to produce a work of art. Leave her workshop with a genuine expression of your creativity to keep no matter what age you are.
