A Life of Galileo

Dolphin Theatre, Nov 9 - 15

Written by Bertolt Brecht, this timeless play asks big questions about the nature of truth and faith. Galileo’s assertion that the earth orbits the sun puts him at odds with the church. When the forces of money and orthodoxy bear down on him, the 17th century scientist learns that lies are necessary to survive – but at what cost to his soul? The battles between scientific discovery and dogma, free speech and censorship, ethics and politics echo down the ages.
